Willing Hostage of Hope

 Intuitive wisdom;
we all have this
infinite well of love,
drawn from our soul’s aquifer,
depths of higher consciousness,
knowing infused with compassion,
it’s always there,
listen for it…
choose to hear it.

      I trust in this,

beyond our stories
and unskilled actions
where we will find purpose;
we know the way,
there is no map,
I will meet you there.

Someday

is not on any calendar
anywhere,
we only have this,
which becomes then,
history tinged with loss,
inconsequential life unlived,
transformation denied,
squandered regrets.

Acquiescence

in the face
of contrary wisdom,
is to deny transformation
from what is,
to what can be;
loss of hope,
equals
loss of vision
   beyond sight.  
I am a willing hostage of hope.

Author notes  
We often use the word hope in a wistful manner that in the final analysis is more grasping, reaching for, and desiring from a restless soul, an unhappy heart trying to sublimate contentment with content.  
Hope in a more selfless context is the willingness and ability to imagine a listing ship of wrongs righted into seas of calm waters. We all understand to greater or lesser degrees the problems and issues that vex this planet of ours, and like it or not we are either participating in this or stepping up to the plate and making a difference, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. The starting point for this hope is clarity of mind and heart, pure intention and willingness to act. I am willing hostage of hope.
