Thank you for listening
when I needed to be heard.
Thank you for speaking
when I yearned for your words

And thanks for the shoulder
when I needed to cry,
and for total acceptance
and not asking why.

Thanks for not judging
and the wisdom to see
my actions and words
aren’t necessarily me

Oh and thank you for knowing
just when to advise
and for pulling me out
from behind my disguise

The journey I’m on
is the one that I choose
it’s all just perception
if it’s win, or it’s lose.

So here is the chance
for me to give thanks
to all those who’ve helped
me fill in the blanks.
