“Healing does not mean going back to the way things were before,
but rather allowing what is now to move us closer to God.”

Dearest Henri,

What does Easter mean to me? It means a time of hope, a time of re-birth, a time of faith, a time of reflection, a time of connectedness to one’s self and that of eternity.

All that said, the day you came into my life, everything began to change. Each day became more joyous with your presence; each night became tenderer with your touch. Each adventure had more excitement, my night sky twinkled more brightly and the moon showed me what it can do…envelop the horizon and rise slowly to show all its brilliance.

I’ve seen the Northern Lights, sailed the Adriatic Sea, travelled former Eastern Bloc countries and listened to beautiful music in historic churches. I have seen wolves in the wild who stared back, bicycled into butterflies, bicycled with butterflies, driven magnificent coastlines from east to west always knowing I had my best friend by my side.

This “latest adventure” doesn’t have the backdrops of the ocean, or the beauty of whales jumping out of the water. There are no taco stands or zip trekking or ski trails to make our hearts beat faster.

This time I need patience, love, compassion, understanding, optimism and hope. I need you to know that you have been more than I could ever ask for in a husband and best friend. I never feel you waiver, even when my feet become weary from walking; you are there to carry me.

I love you with all my heart. Happy Easter darling! To our lives today, tomorrow and to celebrations to come. You are my everything!

~My life forever changed the day you walked in to it.

Michelle.
