You’ve been down, up and sideways,
day time nightmares in between,
looked death in the eye, you never blinked
a tyrant few have ever seen. 
Baby steps of healing, dwarfed by
setbacks quantum size,
your courage firm, unflinching,
through plateaus, lows and highs.  
Winters steal your daylight,
cloak of darkness falls too soon,
marching on undaunted still
with beams from a waning moon.  
Let warrior’s tears of sadness
water soil around your heart
the seeds of strength you’ve planted there
sprout wisdom God imparts. 
Our love is a waltzing circle,
fanning out in three-four time,
spiralling up on wings of faith,
mountains we must climb.

Michelle is in cancer’s clutches and it is tightening its grip; this is unquestionably one of the most difficult challenges we have had to face as a couple. Folks pay a lot of lip service to the idea that material possessions cannot buy you happiness but the full truthful impact of that statement hits home when one is faced with a life threatening health issue for which there is no easy or guaranteed solution. Where do we go from here? 

We struggle; Michelle with her body at war, and me with my sense of helplessness and the convoluted path it takes me on. Ultimately I always come back to the only thing I feel 100% confidence in and that is the healing power of love, I call it This Boomerang Love.
