About Henri Ferguson

Poetry, storytelling and song writing are members of the same family. I have a deep appreciation for the literary arts and believe that creative writing whatever its form, render a fleeting glimpse, a snippet of insight into the author's inner world. To live an unexamined life is our greatest travesty and consequently we cannot grow as we are intended to without putting ourselves under a compassionate lens of scrutiny. Writing can do this by giving us a strategy to crystallize those thoughts and emotions that so often elude clarity and self knowing. Journaling, writing poetry can be a catharsis in this process leading to a new awareness of whom and what we are. The journey of self discovery ultimately opens the door to the spiritual growth and evolution we so richly deserve.

Love Is Like That

"They do not love that do not show their love.  The course of true love never did run smooth.  Love is a familiar. Love is a devil.  There is no evil angel but Love" ~William Shakespeare Let me gaze into your windows with curtains pulled aside, let me pause inside your aura absorbing what stems forth. Be Authentic

“Only the truth of who you are, if realized, will set you free.” ~Eckhart TolleThe articulation of wounded spiritseeping through your deedsand transgressions, resounds clearly over the clamoringverbiage of stated intentoozing inertly from a toxic and manipulative mind.Tell me not what you will do,but in its stead, show me,in humbled silence, with honorable purpose,an altruistic heartdriven by desireto become a [...]

My Way Back to Love

“Exhale, exhale fully. Emptiness begets fullness”.A frozen pen,a vacant page, beseeching bona fide expression. In shrouded silencethe sacred heartfluent in loving awarenessyet lonely still;muted in self imposed exile, craving what it rejects, crying outin muffled longings.Torrent Caribbean windssweep me awayon the crest of a silvery moon.Distant voices in cadences long and slow, reverberating on and on,in harmony with bliss. An opus of understandingbeating to [...]

The Hunger for Peace

“With great power comes great responsibility”~Spiderman The acrid odor of fearpermeates the fragile fabric of silencethat shrouds this forsaken fortress, masquerading as native soil. The refugees of conflict, resigned to homeland horrors becomesheep aware of imminent slaughter, defeat and resignation personified.Politics in all its distorted permutations, like a lethal scythe, with indiscriminate precisionshears everything in its myopic path. Collateral damage [...]

What Would Peace Look Like?

It isn’t about peace or war? it’s about greedand manipulation. It isn’t about who started it,or who’s to blame,it’s about who resolves it.Fighting for Peace, the quintessential contradictionakin to fornicating for chastityIt isn’t about ideological differences,it’s about tolerance and understanding,or lack thereof. It isn’t about communism or capitalism,it’s about karmic correctness. It isn’t about supply crisis,to feed the [...]

Because I Can

Trades from the East speak to me,bending without mercysilver thatch palmsoutside my kitchen door.On this tempest SundayI’ll blade into resolute winds,to remind myself that I can,and I do. Zephyrs whisper in my ear,“dig deep, find strength”, my legs embrace the challenge, and I fly. Potent power stridesexpressions of fine will summonedpropel me headlong into gusty defiance;I am [...]
